Bali Island and Nusa Tenggara islands are located to the east of Java Island. Nusa Tenggara Island itself consists of 2 (two) provinces namely West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara. In each province has a different culture because it is inhabited by different tribes.
The majority of Balinese people are Hindu so the traditional house is very close to Hindu culture such as the existence of a family temple in its traditional house. In contrast to balinese traditional houses, West Nusa Tenggara jusṭru is more dekaṭ with Islamic culture so that the traditional house also uses Islamic values. East Nusa Tenggara’s traditional house is more dekạṭ dengạn local tribal culture ṭidak influenced by religious values such as Bali and West Nusa Tenggara.
Balinese Traditional House
Balinese traditional houses do not have a special name, but this traditional house is in the form of a complex surrounded by walls. The entrance gate(angkul-angkul or ordering) is followed by a fence and aling-aling wall so we have to turn right or left.
In the complex is called bale sakenem (family home), bale dangin (male unṭuk house), royal (family temple), bale daje (unmarried women’s house), bale dauh (old people’s house), jineng (rice barn), bale paon / perapen (kitchen) and tebe (animal cage). The length of the length used is the body size of the owner (human) hasta and sedepa.

Dalam Loka
The dalam loka house is the sumbawa royal palace in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The traditional house dalam loka in the form of 2 (two) twin stage houses called bala rea.
West Nusa Tenggara Traditional House
There is an entrance to enter the stage house, but not a ladder (not steps), but a flat board arranged uphill so that everyone who will enter will automatically lower their head. The traditional house Dalam Loka has a pillar of 99 pieces in accordance with the number of attributes of Allah (Asmaul Husna).
Musalaki
There are several traditional houses in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) because there are inhabited by many tribes. One of the famous traditional houses in East Nusa Tenggara is musalaki.
East Nusa Tenggara Traditional House
Musalaki house is a residence for the customary chairman. Musalaki house is also usually used for customary activities. The roof of the musalaki house has a form such as a ridge that is sạngaṭ high as a symbol of unity with the Creator. The roof is made using straw. All the ingredients of musalaki house manufacture come from natural ingredients. Starting from the floor to the roof comes from natural materials.
